THOR fandom! How I love you!! Entertain me, internets!!!

I finished knitting my fourth ever thing! The first three things were scarves (two single-color garter stitch -- one burnt orange, for me, and one turquoise for my daughter -- and one Dr. Who scarf for my husband). The fourth thing is a basketweave dishcloth! The fifth thing will be a basketweave dishtowel!

I started knitting this spring because I needed to do something in the evenings instead of reading news and hating people. Now I have a delicious new fandom to follow, so I can read fanfiction and knit. Much more cheerful all round.

I hate crowds and I never go to movie premieres, and even if I did I wouldn't have gone to the _Super 8_ one, but I just saw that Tom Hiddleston, my new favorite actor on the planet, *did* go. He was in Westwood yesterday, not 20 minutes from where I live and so now I'm very very sad anyway.

He seems absolutely charming in videos. That is a good thing.

Oh my goodness I haven't crushed so hard on an actor (on anyone, actually) in I can't even remember anything to compare this to.

Does this mean he's here in LA? EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

Oh dear! The word meter application I was using here has broken! Does anyone know what to do?

In any case I've now got 8188 words, 27 pages of Chapter One of my book. Go me!

Yesterday I realized that there is no frustrating busy situation that cannot be improved by re-reading ELF PORN! Hee.

I just made new revisions and sent off the revised text of an article to the publisher. Next...

Only one person has registered for my winter quarter graduate seminar. I am worried. Should I be worried??? Is everyone planning to register after the new year, or what?

I forgot to post yesterday's happy thing. Yesterday, the best part was lunch with my husband. Most of the day was errands, appointments and obligations.

Today facebook made me happy: a girl I knew from Jr. High school through college friended me, and so did one of this quarter's students, who also sent me a note saying how much he enjoyed the class. And we went out for bagels for breakfast. I love going out for bagels for breakfast, even if it means a light lunch in exchange.

What made me happy today? Well, the fact that I could finally check my email in the evening, for one. I also enjoyed my lunch, seared albacore tataki salad at my favorite sushi restaurant. Most of the day was frustrating, though, and I'm glad I got through it. Hey, realizing I got through a frustrating day just made me happy!
